We had an interesting day yesterday. Tina was driving over the Dames Point bridge, a beautiful, large cable-stayed bridge with 175 foot clearance for boats to pass under and saw a pick up with all kinds of stuff in the bed, some of it dangling from the truck. So she changes lanes, so as not to be behind it. Well, that still didn't help. Something came off of the truck, it hit the pavement, another truck tried to avoid it, but didn't and cause whatever IT was to bounce and careen into Tina's passenger side window, shattering it. That got her attention. She called me when she got to where she was going and we spent the rest of the day ferrying the van to the needed place, finished the shopping that she had originally started out doing, picked up the kids from work, and retrieved the van with the newly replaced window and seal.
You see these vehicles all the time. Things just lying in the bed and worry about items falling out and hitting you. Well, that what happened to her. Of course she was so shocked by the flying, shattered glass that she didn't get a tag number or anything, which is understandable, going down the road at 70mph and something suddenly breaking your passenger side window. Luckily, she was OK, other that than the psychic scar she endured. We didn't see any other damage to the van, and in Florida, with comprehensive insurance coverage, windows are replaced with NO deductible, so it was repaired with no out of pocket expense.

The glass repair shop told Tina that the bridge causes them a lot of business.
