Yes, I subscribed to the new threat but haven't caught up. It does seem that there cannot be any other possible endgame here in the US, does it?

More than half my own overseas investments are based on foreign currencies, not stock markets, so I'd likely stay pat with most. However, I think for most people investing abroad, they are in stocks, and most likely the newcomers are in the rocket markets (e.g. Shanghai) and will run for the hills as you suggest, although at the worst possible moment no doubt.

I think if things unravel in the US this year or next, we'd take the world down with us via a series of shock waves. However, if things muddle along for another ten years here before they unravel, it's possible we'd sink but a few of the emerging economies would remain somewhat intact. I don't think China is anywhere near that point now, however, which is why I believe they must keep playing the game. But the game is one of passing around a lit stick of dynamite, and so the game will end at some point regardless of the desire of the players to keep enjoying the party.
