Comcast DVR STBs ...

Dave,

<< The problem I have is that with the new system I am unable to program my DVD and record programs I may like. I called the Comcast rep and they finally explained that it was not possible to record dvd unless I ordered another cable box that is similar to Tivo. Cost an additional $7 per month. Has anyone had similar experience and solution?
Suggest everyone contact Comcast for price reduction as in my area they are a monoply. >>

FWIW: About one week ago (a few days before contracting with Verizon for the FIOS triple play) I recieved a call from a Comcast telemarketer. Probably in anticipation of Verizon's multi-room DVR package and FIOS TV goung live in my hood she advised that Comcast was offerring a deal whereby I could bring in my non-DVR equipped HDTV STB and my two SDTV STBs and Comcast would replace them with DVR enabled HDTV STBs. No charge for the 1st year. A monthly fee (the $$$ I don't recall) thereafter.

Best,

- Eric -
