If you are in Florida I can point you to a site (florida department of professional regulation) but to my knowledge there is no national database.

Ask him for a release to inquire about his claims history with his liability carrier.

If he's without claims he will jump at the chance to prove it.

If he refuses......I'd walk.

A national database, actually covering Canada, too, with patient ratings for doctors.

Obviously, they're not going to have every doctor, but it's worth a look.
