Both the Tribune and the Chicago Sun Times has given Obama generally favorable treatment.

If what you say is correct then is the Tribune in the business of "pump and dump" and in the bargain make all the money you can. The staff there must have been Wall Streeters in their past lives.

Any similarity to Senator Robert Byrd of West Virignia is purely coincidental. Byrd has been one of the biggest porkers in Congress---------sometimes not to the local West Virginia people's liking as the controversy arose over starting a college in his name that would complete with well established institutions in W.VA.

As news developed on this-------local people and alumni of the endangered institutions opposed eliminations of their institutions and preserved their institutions. And, yes, Byrd still got a new school in his name in Southern W.Va.

From article----------------

"SPRINGFIELD -- Barack Obama has expressed pride in his ability to bring home old-fashioned pork.

During his nearly eight years in Springfield, he tucked special earmarks into massive budget bills to shower small bequests on inner city schools, parks and youth service agencies."

The following grant needs some explaining-------why is Congress funding a non-profit dance group's center. Why did the non-profit group not go to the private sector and charitable foundations to raise funds or raise funds from the local taxpayers?

Pork sponsored by political ally-------

"Personal ties to Obama also were evident in some pork dispensed by his political allies. The Chicago-based Muntu Dance Theatre received a $4.5 million grant to help pay for a $10 million cultural center.

Obama's mentor in Springfield, state Sen. Emil Jones (D-Chicago), sponsored the grant. And at the time $2.25 million of the grant was disbursed, Obama's wife, Michelle, sat on the non-profit dance group's board."

do you think Bloomberg and Hagel will run as Independents...?

ktvu.com

Money wouldn't be an issue as Bloomberg is worth at least as much as Soros.
