i think he would hurt rudy on cross over votes. Bringing new't into election brings back washington fighting. I doubt Rudy would pick him up on the ticket. Thompson would be like a winner imo. If Thompson is lazy and lacks a lot of interest vp would be a good place for him and draw conservatives and southern votes.

I wonder how long it will take before the liberals (and the libertarians) see the threat." Don't know about 'liberals' or 'conservatives' as a group... (but I'm pretty sure you can delete 'libertarians' from the premise of your question above. We are generally far better informed on geo-political issues and history then either of the other two groupings.... :-)
