Not being an expert but having enough experience to build my own systems here's my 2 cents. I would always load the latest non-beta chipset drivers from the motherboard manufacturers website. The drivers included within an XP disk are probably outdated. That's not to say there is anything wrong with them but the drivers offered by the manufacturer are surely more up to date with fixes to repair possible compatibility issues with newer hardware.

Then again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
