yes, Pat, Neulasta

better news on this report, on several fronts

her white cells built up enough to do chemo yesterday

the new nausea meds worked, she did not get sick

she is going in today for a med for white cell build up - I thought she said a shot

the tumor feels softer to the doc - so something is already happening to it

we're thinking that as sensitive as she is to meds, the big plus is the chemo drugs are working better than normally expected, just as you thought too - hence the low white blood cell count

we also talked about expecting the unexpected - that it will prolly be par for the course, twists here and there - things not seen that crop up - and that, that is what we should expect - she seems more open to that line of thought now

I'm going over there next week and bringing all her favorite take out chinky dishes - all the girls are coming - I'll give her the CD then

as also expected, her hair has fallen out this week - she had gotten a 1 inch buzz so it wouldn't seem so traumatic when it happened

but it still was

her hair is straight as an arrow and she has always admired my curls - I told maybe it will come back in curly and we can call her Shirley [as in Temple]

after we spoke, I cried for everything she is going through and the loss of her lovely hair

thank you for sharing so much - for me, it helps having your voice of experience - it eases the fears

Sherry
