One has to presume Turek has the money to pay his debt to John Murphy but just refuses to do so. That seems to say volumes about what Turek thinks about Pro-Mold, not to mention about his character for refusing to pay a very public debt with all the shareholders watching. And if Turek for some reason truly doesn't have the money, where did all those millions go? Maybe he's just afraid to disgorge anything for fear it would lead authorities to the source.

We also know that key people and customers had been leaving all along as payroll had become an adventure to meet each week. Now that all employees are aware of the auction, you'd have to think they spend their days checking the want ads, so if somehow Turek does salvage the company, he basically has just the assets left which he'll likely be forced to sell himself anyhow, followed by bankruptcy, so where's the incentive?
