>The Iraqis have elected their own government and that government has requested US troops stay for the present.

"Election" was a farce. Do you really think the Iraqi Govt. has a choice??????

The Iraqis want us out. Their elections were badly flawed, but so is the entire Bush-Cheney plan in Iraq. None of it is workable even under the best of conditions. Saddam was in power for a reason, ebcause only a brutal dictator could keep that country together by making sure Sunnis dominated Shias, and killed them if they didn't comply. Now the Shias are in charge and naturally they want revenge, but the SUnnis are not only trained in violence and richer, but have the support of Saudi Arabia, and Al Qaida. While the Shias have the support of Iran. It is a total clusterf**k. We should get the hell out.

Otherwise, which side do you prefer, Iran or Al Qaida?
