Yeah, but the biggest slice will come out of the Republican's hide. The socially liberal, fiscally conservative branch aligned with the Republicans are a lot more unhappy than the ones aligned with the Democrats. So the Democratic ones will, for the most part, stick because they feel they can influence the party.

So the Republican party will be split. People like Shorty will be happy about it, but...

Unless, and probably even if, the Democratic party gets serious about doing something about the lobbyists, they would leak people to the as of yet hypothetical 3rd party. But that will take time.
