That I don't know. They probably do say something entirely
different now, but I'm sure history of the communist party is
not something they dwell extensively on -g- So, I'm not
even sure the story of Trotsky is in history textbooks anymore.

And those who care... I guess are the communists. Few of
those kind are left. Why would anybody want to study this
stuff, unless it was required?

70 years under the Communist rule will probably be known
in new history books as the "dark age" -g- All Lenin statues
were removed, and there were a lot of them. However, I
believe Lenin's corpse is still on display, which was
done against his own will (to be buried).

Totalitarian rule was not fun. You could not say anything
without the fear of KGB.

And yes, there were periodic regional elections, but you
always had to vote for a single candidate, so few people
attended. That changed after Gorbachev came. -ggg-
