Actually, they are looking into ways to tax us on miles driven, not at the pump.

The more money we conserve by using fewer items that are taxable, the less money Government has for pork.

So, the item on the agenda is to tax us on miles driven.

After all, if I drive 20 miles at 18 miles per gallon but you drive 50 miles at 40 mpg they are losing money on you.

So I'll get to drive the BMW at 18 mpg, and they will suck your blood for driving a hybrid.

I read an interesting newsletter on it awhile back. I don't know where it is now.

But the gist was King George was better, because these days we get taxed on earning money, we get taxed for savings on the interest on our money, we get taxed investing on capital gains on our money, and after all of that we die and get taxed again.

The Founding Fathers would never have rebelled, had they a glimpse of such a future.
