Your right, but unfortunately its the type of logic that's been taken up too much by the anti-war side. If they tried to present a serious case quite a few of them could present a decent argument, but then they would also have to deal with the counter-arguments. Ad-hominem is easier, and if they can't do it directly they will bring in people's children or other friends or relatives. Well maybe its not just a easy shortcut for some of them. Some might believe that a child not agreeing with the parent means the parent must be wrong or a hypocrite. They also might believe that if you can effectively attack the arguer that you have refuted the argument. But I hope that percentage is small. There is already more then enough irrational thinking out there.
