REMEMBER THIS?

[FAC: A while back we kicked around ideas concerning what it means to archive information that we come across on the Web, bookmarking or storing everything in our local filing cabinets, or wherever, as opposed to simply depending on Web search for items as we need them, thus offloading mountains of administration from our daily lives and freeing our time for more Web searches ;) The article below about Gordon Bell's penchant for archives is from the New Yorker, as posted by Gordon Cook earlier today on his mailing list. I thought it was interesting in many ways, not the least being because of its similarities to earlier discussions we've had here. What do you think? Where does the article leave you, with respect to where this is all going?]
