That is not at all like saying that actions have reactions... or that policy choices MATTER.

(With the benefit of hindsight, propping up the corrupt Saudi Monarchy for decades, and standing silent while they forestalled the natural evolution of their society by FINANCING the MOST EXTREME and VIRULENT branch of Islamic teaching --- Wa'habbism --- in all of their SCHOOLS, (birthing al Qaeda's radicals, and so many more)... might... just might... not have been the *wisest policy* to follow.)

Spending *TRILLIONS* in the Middle East, instead of using our wealth and talents to build energy security and independence for our great nation... might not be so smart, either.

Exactly, I agree... no matter how he tries to disguise it, that's what he's saying, we caused it one way or the other...
