Diamonds may just soon become like the first aluminum cutlery sets ever made.

9 It is only during the 20th Century that it has become economical to extract aluminium commercially. 150 years ago, the metal was so scarce that it was deemed to be as precious as gold or silver. Napoleon Bonaparte prized his expensive cutlery set, and Picadilly's Eros statue was extremely valuable — both were made entirely of aluminium!
