I see, so you're saying that the current $40/bbl rise in crude since 2003 is entirely due to US military consumption plus a weak dollar? I guess the Chinese are burning solar power over the last 4 years. BTW, just how much do you think the US military burns (BOE equivalent) per diem?

BTW, if US military consumption is such a huge factor, why wasn't there a big surge in real gasoline prices in 1965-70? I guess planes and trucks were more fuel efficient then, since we had more than twice as many troops in Nam as we do in Iraq.
