Snowshoe, you know this and I know this, but for any lurkers out there, Halcro (writer of the comment in your post) ran against Palin for governor. He was an independent, trying for the middle ground between what I'm sure he hoped would be an unpopular incumbent (Frank Murkowski) and a liberal Democrat. However when Sarah Palin upset Murkowski in the Republican primary, his hopes went down the toilet, along with a lot of money (his rental car business ran huge airtime while he was a candidate, with him visibly and vocally in the ads). So there are some sour grapes here to be sure.
