The agreement came after South Korea promised to send North Korea 400,000 tons of rice, as well as $80 million worth of raw materials for shoes, soap and textiles.

In other words, South Korean politicians bought their way to this "historical precedent."

Which might not be that bad in the grand scheme of things, but let's not kid ourselves. North Korea still prefers handouts over cleaning up its own act.

I tend to agree with you. Now if S. Korea were clever, it would send this stuff up, whet the appetities of the N. Korean people and then cut them off again until Long John agrees to some democratization measures.

BTW how are you liking Berlin? It looked really cool in the Bourne Supremacy.

This old fart learned something new today.

On Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" today, I learned that Waylon Jennings was a part of Buddy Holly's new backup band, and that he gave up his seat on the ill fated flight to the Big Bopper.
