If that was the case, idiot, then why did the US think of getting a second Security Council resolution For reasons of international, and perhaps to a lesser extent domestic, politics. In the long run I'd like to see Pakistan have a real democracy, but in the short run that isn't going to happen... But it will happen fairly soon in Iraq, right? It already has happened in Iraq. Iraq is a violent, difficult, nasty place right now. Its not secure. Its not as free as we'd like it to be. It has all sorts of problems. But it is a democracy.
