The fall of Saddam was likely to trigger this kind of violence no matter who did it....and it was well past time for Saddam and his raping, murdering sons to to....it is only when the Iraqi people decide to put aside the kind of hatred and bile which characterizes your posts that peace will prevail in post Saddam Iraq.....which is why a military presence is only part of the solution......a political compromise needs to be effected as well....

Haters like yourself are gleeful at the carnage solely because it reflects badly on GWB...and its quite a disgusting display you have made of yourself today....and every day.

OK, the invasion took only a few days. Do you think the occupation is "working",

The occupation is also over. It ended when we turned over power to the Iraqi government, and our role changed from being the occupying power, to being a supporter of the government against an insurgency.

Anticipating the obvious question, do I think the the attempt to quell or at least contain the insurgency is working?

Well its working in terms of having a positive effect, in terms of things being better then they would be without the effort. Its not working if you define that as "just about to completely succeed".
