@Griffin/Puma
I don't know, how we could speak/predict unspecific core
enhancement for an old K8 Core, when the new Barcelona core
is just in front and could be used too? Why will AMD not use
a clear K10 derivate in 2008? I always thought, that they
would go that way:

- take L3 off
- deactivate one FPU unit or take it out
- voltage down, clock of course down too
- use different (mobile) transistor

So, when I ask why AMD will not use this K10 (re)design, I
only have to come to the conclusion, that power will be
difficult. What does that mean? AMD said, they will of course
introduce 95W and lower W QC parts. Take 95W as one first step.
Take 2 Cores out and we are at 48W. Take L3 out and don't use
some heavy power FP units. Should reach 40W now. Now take
clock and voltage down - use another transistor in some parts
and voila - we have an 25-35W K10 mobile DC design. Why isn't
that the way? The only answer right now for me is, that
Barcelona core isn't that good in scaling down for power in
65nm mode. Does this mean, that the potential upscale is
limited too?
