"From that article, I wonder if Rudy could actually change the party's position on abortion... just thinking out loud..." My guess is that, for the first time in a decade or so, it's possible. There is enough ferment in the Party, and a desire to coalesce around an iconic Small Government and Freedom philosophy that it is possible now. (Remember, when Goldwater ran for the Presidency --- did the ideas he enunciated win out immediately? Or, as with MOST big philosophical movements, did it take time to mature before it could bear fruit?)
