We only know a limited time frame of market history. 20 years from now they could well have a cycle theory that says worlds based on stock markets collapse utterly, casting civilization in to the dark ages every 300 years. Rome, the Eternal City, collapsed and took all of western civilization with it, and that collapse was caused by an underlying monetary crisis. Did they see it coming??? No way.
