Former President Carter says President Bush's administration is "the worst in history" in international relations, taking aim at the White House's policy of pre-emptive war and its Middle East diplomacy.

The criticism from Carter, which a biographer says is unprecedented for the 39th president, also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative funding.

Any responsible, concerned human being who has any power in this country needs to be lashing out. For those like Carter who really care about this country, it has to be infuriating. The worst part.......I am beginning to think Bush really thought he was doing something important for the world by invading Iraq; that it wasn't only about the oil. And he continues to hope that he will not go down in infamy. Wait til he leaves the presidency......he will be treated no better than a court jester.
