Didn't the DDT smell? I would think the smell would have put you off.

I swear to God... we would be sitting at the dinner table and the DDT truck would come by... you could hear it. And little Johnny would say "can I ride my bike behind the DDT truck, pleaaaase?". And Mom and Dad would say "sure", just be careful".

By the way, my Dad was a doctor.

(And yes, it did smell. A sort of mild chemical smell, not unpleasant. Burned your eyes a little. But the cool part was you were riding your bike in this fog so you couldn't see. It was fun!).


And Chris said Dow execs would go on tv eating the stuff. What a different time.......Americans then were so trusting; never realizing the gov't might screw them.
