Are you SURE no one pays PMI?

No I'm not- I'm kind of curious about it actually. I paid PMI when I had my first mortgage years ago but as was the tradition then, houses were appreciating rapidly so you didn't have to pay it for long, you could refi easily and get rid of it. Still on a first mortgage everybody paid it once.

But the people who work with me that are getting mortgages now, aren't paying it. Everybody is getting a 10% HELOC to avoid the PMI, I think.
