re: Medicare dictates what they will pay. You think private insurance doesn't? The only people that pay "retail" for medical care are the uninsured. And as standard practice, private insurance rejects the claim at least once. re: Get specific, how is your single payer govt health care for everyone that doesn't exist yet, going to be better than the current single payer govt run health care for senior citizens? For one it will be cheaper. For two it will cover everyone. For three it's not "government run" health care it's government paid health care. Non profit and without marketing expenses, or obscenely paid CEO and accoutants whose only goal is to deny claims and pad the bottom line so they can make even more money.
