It's survival. You have a corrupt govt, corrupt workers comp/(insurance) system, corrupt tax enforcement bu·reauc·ra·cy , and a corrupt quasi govt bu·reauc·ra·cy TAPE worm that eats at EVERYTHING you do. You have the option of working for the corrupt govt agency or borrowing money at LOANSHARK prices (from the corrupt QUASI govt agency) and risk losing it all if you can't pay back the closed end lease. The CONTRACTORS get rich building the roads and the BIG govt funded buildings. It's a great system.

>As long as the supply of labor exceeds the demand, there will be people who will work outside of unions (on not work at all). Unions only work when supply and demand are in balance, or demand is higher.

Not completely. Remember that corporations will do whatever they can to decrease the power of unions, and the existing laws benefit corporations.

>The root of the problem isn't the illegals, I don't blame them one bit. The root problem is employers breaking the law and giving them jobs to pad their bottom line, at the expense of citizens.

I agree...
