That's a very common reaction and why it's so difficult to improve health care. People are risk adverse, and even if their system is mediocre and way overpriced they are still afraid of change. Part of it is the "I've got mine" mentality... the risk part can be overcome with education. Eventually we will catch up to the rest of the developed world.
