All I hear about Hillary is that she is a WONK, which means she doesn't HAVE to be coached on issues.

Obama is the one that is gonna have to be "coached". When he is forced to go from, "Can't we all have hope?" to SPECIFICS on how he is going to bring about that hope, THEN we'll see if the guy can bring some "substance" to his glitz.

I am writing to you from an internet cafe in Lima, Peru.

Too bad I have not been following the news lately. You see, I have been holidaying in South America from Lima, Peru to La
Paz in Bolivia. I went on and completed the Inca Trail ----
Camino Inka ------ in thin air at about 14.000 ft over a period of bout 4 days! from May 16th to May 19th,
finally ending at Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the world.

I learnt from one of my guides that the Spanish conquered Peru with a minimal force of about 200 men . They succeeded
because they were aided by a traitorous son of the ruling Inca.
Though the Spanish kept their promise to enthrone the traitorous son and his successors, they reneged on their word after about 100 years. Then the social order of the Inca hierarchy was abolished and conversion of the native Peruvians
to Roman Catholicism was forced under pain of death. And for most of the time, all the Spanish really cared about was gold and silver!!! The Spanish sreipped the gold and silver from religious icons as if desecrating holy Incan places was their birthright, and they forced the Incans to work as slaves to mine gold ans silver.

After 100 years the original Incan social hierachy was abolished and the Spanish did their best to destroy the Incan religion. But they did not succeed. Today, the ancient Incan religion is still well and alive!

Why am I telling you all this? Well, I see sort of a parallel looming up in the case of Iraq. But.... but.... whereas the ancient Incans lacked modern weapons and horses at that time and so were greatly handicapped and easily defeated and conquered, the Iraqis have access to powerful weapons and so are no easy pushovers. Besides they have a strong religion, a modus operandi and a raison de etre.

The Spanish went to Peru for gold and silver. Bush and his neocons went to the Iraq and ME for OIL!!! Both the Spanish and Bush have puppets to help them. See some parellel here???

They say that history often repeats itself. If not, it tends to rhyme. How true!
