5% is not a problem, what does one volcano do ? el Nino, la nina, cloud formation, solar cycle ?

Ah! You can just declare that eh? Unfortunately that is what all the modeling is about. It says there is a problem.

BTW, a volcano has the opposite effect, since it releases lots of particulate pollution as well. Hansen modeled such eruptions actually. The models do a good job with them as well.

Of the others, cloud formation is I think one of the more uncertain, but that does not preclude using the models. As I've pointed out, produce a better model if you think you can.
