I can imagine many scenarios in which it would be an honor to stand against a heinous criminal in the protection of my home and loved ones in a fight to the death if need be ... and I thank God that hasn't been necessary. JMO

In such a scenario, I think I would only experience fear (not cowardice) for the safety of my loved ones, and myself. And were I to survive the experience, the only emotion would be relief, and then outrage that I was forced by the perpetrator into having to take such an action.

That is a big if and it comes dangerously close to validating the views of Ward Churchill types.

Perhaps, but it seems to work for the Israelis. And I certainly wouldn't have shed a tear had Eva Braun been killed during an attempt assassinate Hitler.

But I would agree that a terrorist's family SHOULT NOT be directly and seperately targeted without firm information of their direct involvement in terrorist activities.. It's just that we shouldn't restrain ourselves if the target's family happens to be in the vicinity when we drop the JDAM.

I can tell you with relative certainty that Saddam's wife and daughters were (are?) funding the insurgency from their safe haven in Jordan. Yet, we targeted his sons, Qusai and Udai, yet never lifted a finger to detain his wife and daughters.
