lol

Apparently one is not supposed to have an opinion about the war unless one is serving or has someone in one's family serving in Iraq....its rather a silly thought...I admit.

I've just sifted through 200+ posts at "The View from the Center" thread. It was a non-stop Bush (and all things conservative) bash fest. No poster there had a single positive thing to say about anything remotely conservative. The only reason it isn't accurate to say that they are 100% zealously anti-conservative is because every 100 posts or so a real centrist or moderate conservative posts there.

On the other hand these self-proclaimed "centrists" had nothing but love for all things liberal. And not a single negative word about anything remotely liberal from the whole lot. I could not find anything remotely "centrist", be it domestic or foreign policy that anyone there supported. NOT A SINGLE WORD OF SUPPORT FAR ANY "CENTRIST" POLICY!

This succinctly sums up the "centrist" mindset at the "View":

From Dale Baker: "Funny how so many institutions just don't want to deal with the modern clique of rabid wingers...a reassuring sign...."

From WhiffleMcMalfie: "the RWEs I know who have abandoned GWB have done so because he hasn't gone far enough toward lawlessness, civil rights suppression and torture. Movement conservatism needs to be thoroughly discredited and soon. Where are the moderate GOPers?"

From Paul Kern: "Presidential elections are less than 18 months away and, for once, time is on our side."

The antiwar folks don't give a damn about Iraq, the ME, the death toll, etc. ... its a rationale to justify their hatred of people here that they'd hate anyway:

I didn't agree with that part of the article. I did everything I could to prevent the Iraq war. Bush took his ill considered step without my approval, without my vote, and despite protests I joined and letters I wrote. IMO everyone who supported Bush and the war is guilty, and those who protested Bush and the war are not.

Course if it wasn't the war, we'd be guilty because of not supporting gay marriage, or being "selfish" about tax increases, yada yada yada.
