That salary hasn't changed in 35 years, but now illegals do it for "privatized" contractors with no benefits." That is the thing that always sucks. When my father started as a watchmaker, the pay was pretty decent. But then it stagnated for decades. By the time I was in high school, it was below the poverty line. Now, he could make $10k or more a month. But he is in his mid-70s and doesn't want to work that much... Why can he make so much now? What's changed since you were in high school?
