What are all these Palestinian refugee camps doing in Lebanon anyway? Shouldn't these people have been repatriated to Israel-Palestine decades ago? Does Israel prohibit them from relocating to the West Bank?

Eh, good question. Israel did prohibit them after 1967, I believe. Until then, Lebanon and Jordan prohibited them. Lebanon has also prohibited them from becoming Lebanese citizens, getting Lebanese work papers, or moving out of the camps.

By now, only a small percentage of the population are actual refugees from 1948. With other refugee populations, to be a refugee you actually have to be a refugee, but with the Palestinians - you guessed it, didn't you? - it doesn't work that way.
