One thing about Bush -- he SUPPORTS his base. The Democrats, by contrast, SELL OUT again and again. Did you honestly expect anything else? The young Dems came into a hateful, vengeful machine. They have no power in the face of those in power with major scores to settle. ALL politicians focus on getting re-elected instead of doing what they promised. Term limits is the answer. Get new blood in there all the time. Get out the long standing legacies.

Centrist-progressives and moderates are in charge now. The DEms only took both houses because they ran centrists like Webb and Tester. Liberals did not win the day, though they have certainly been proven right on the war, ethics and environment. Liberals have much more power now, but it's still centrists who DEms owe their present power to, just remember that. The god news is that the far right neocon types are totally discredited. Now the only question is how many of them go to prison. But all this takes time. It took 18 months to get rid of Nixon after Watergate. Dems have only been in power now for about six months.
