Mythical Group? Al Qaida? ... Hardly Mythical... remember 911, embassy's and U.S.Cole ... ever heard of Osama Bin Ladin and Ayman Al Zawahiri? .... Only the delusional believe they are pawns of the U.S. Government.

Osama was a Saudi ... rejected by the royal family when he started his Jihad and anti-western hatred that took root when the Saudis rejected his offer to deal with Saddam in Kuwait ... because they allowed U.S. to set up military staging areas in Saudi Arabia, Bin Ladin issued Fatwa against the West and started justifying even killing fellow Muslims if they were aliened with us, thinking that we were defiling the Holy Land of Islam. It is a radical, deadly, religious movement.

Al Qaida is a fundamentalist, Jihad movement inspired by Zawahiri, the radical member of the old Egyptian brotherhood whom many believe was behind the assassination of Anwar Saddat because he made peace with Israel.

He had a huge influence on Bin Ladin who, after the first gulf war, decided to take Jihad to the West anywhere in the world.
He issued a televised Fatwa and so became the current version of Al Qaida and the latest morphing of Jihad to the global arena. Bush did not start the war on Terror worldwide, he finally opened our eyes that Bin Ladin had long before started this worldwide war, during the Clinton Years, we just finally started waking up and realizing these radical religious barbarians, wishing to impose Sharia Law on the entire world, were dead serious and coming.

Wake up and join reality.

"As far as I'm concerned, Al Qaeda is the name used for the mythical group the US is fighting against in its War on Terrorism."

Of course, and quite necessary to promulgate if one is to conduct never ending wars all over the planet.

Why, we now have "Al Qaeda in Iraq", good for numerous special television documentaries. Whatever happened to the original "Al Qaeda" in friendly Saudi Arabia?

What's next? Al Qaeda in Iran?
