I don't agree with this guy that people know what's going on and will expect things to be this way. Most people think that "someone should do something about the high price of gas", with that "someone" being Congress. High prices are seen as temporary due to Big Oil. While that may be true to some degree (they don't want to repair refineries or build new ones), "someone" with guts in Congress should have a news conference and put forth the facts...though pinpointing when is tough, the U.S. lifestyle will eventually decline due to peak oil and there is little that "someone' will be able to do about it. Too many weasels and no one with integrity. Dropping that bombshell now would at least open discussion.

On a different topic...anyone know of any edible grains that are feasible to grow in a semi-suburban back yard. The mowing season has started and it grates on me to use irreplaceable hydrocarbons to cut grass (too big and hilly for a hand mower).
