indeed, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch...! The commissions were once 7%, then 6%, now 5%, and the national average actually dipped below 5, and since has leveled at this point. Haven't seen any recent stats of late... in my neck of the woods, gotta have a license to sell real estate unless it is owner owned or other special circumstances. ...The state wants to regulate and participate in the profits in as many ways as possible. The chosen point man is the agent.
