House Democrats Vote to Ignore Their Own New Ethics Rules

Well, it's official. The House Democrats' claim that they're going to run the "most ethical Congress in history" is a total joke. A sham. Of course, that's not really surprising. What is surprising it that they're not even trying to hide it.

Just two days before bringing up their so-called "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," House Democrats have voted to ignore a clear ethics violation by one of their leaders, Congressman John Murtha. If you need to catch up on the situation, we wrote about it earlier right here.

I can't wait to see Speaker Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel stand up during the debate on this lobbying "reform" bill on Thursday and claim that they're cleaning up Washington, at the same time they're ignoring their own new rules and pushing legislation that leaves a loophole in the gift ban that a taxpayer-funded government lobbyist could sail Duke Cunningham's yacht through.

If you haven't already, contact your Member of Congress and urge him or her to support an amendment expected to be offered by Congressman Jeff Flake and House Republican Leader John Boehner that would close the gift-ban loophole that we've identified. Click here to read a "Dear Colleague" letter from Reps. Boehner and Flake in support of the amendment, and click here to contact your Member of Congress.

It's not like the Bush Administration is replete in a folly of missed opportunities, perhaps most notable of which is his bungling of the post-9/11 support from almost every nation in the world and transforming this support into a hatred, disdain and ridicule of America.

Fact of the matter is that the Bush-Cheney Gopwingers have been no different than a runaway train, leaving lives and wreckage strewn everywhere!

Oh, but for the hopes and dreams of so many families impacted and ruined far and wide across the whole of the planet planet!

My only hope is that when GOPwingers become an endangered specieis, that they don't make the endagered species list--lol!
