Yeah, I'm paraphrasing. It says something about "in some cases" or something like that which implies a theoretical instance rather than a standard activity. I read it as a "can you ever conceive it as a legitimate action, or is it always verboten?" type of question. Since US Muslims don't generally suicide bomb people (AFAIK), I think it's hard to interpret it otherwise.

Says to me it means 1 in 8 US Muslims thinks there are some exceptional circumstances when suicide bombing is justified. If viewed that way, 1 in 8 seems to me low, and I imagine if you chose virtually ANY target group (Muslims, Hindus, Mexicans, contruction workers, lesbians, or whatever) you'd get 1 in 8 that can imagine a theoretical example where they think it's justified. So the big hoopla being made over this "survey" is unjustified, IMO.
