I spoke with IR today. I was told that the 250 tpd mill they are buying will be installed to increase the capacity of the current 60 tpd operation, and that the new mill was designed to allow for scaled upgrades in capacity as the company grows. This mill will still be processing the higher grade vein material that is stockpiled at surface and will be tuned to handle the production from the underground mines as the development grows.

They are also going ahead with a leach pad recovery operation, and a crushing unit capable of processing about 600 tpd will be installed. This will run the lower grade material from the open pit mines that have been developed at El Abra and Cerro Colorado. I believe the average grade of this feedstock is expected to run around 1 g/t gold and 100 g/t silver, so it should be very profitable if they can achieve reasonable recovery efficiency above 60% for the combined metals.

I will be going back to Mexico early in June to visit the mines and I am looking forward to seeing how much the development has advanced since last year.

cheers!
