But the vast majority of illegals are here to work. Also, if you can quickly and easily check if somebody is eligible to work legally in the US, you can use that ability to identify remove the criminal illegals as well. The main reason criminal illegals cannot be easily identified and caught is because they are the ones with the sophisticated fake IDs that make reliable identification so difficult in the US. It is astounding to me that almost 6 years have passed since 9/11 and we still don't have a tamper proof way to identify who is here legally and who is not.
