Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Nile delta/valley, coastal N. Africa, yes, though often as a minority. What is now Iraq, Iran - minimally. I also think "we were there first" arguments are usually not helpful, but then I'm not really following the argument, so have at it. ;-)
