My Japanese girlfriend was a licensed compliance officer at her previous Japanese brokerage. I had to send her the article since she's actually applied for a job with a US based branch of Sumitomo-Mitsui.

Do most Japanese still keep their savings in the Postal system? That was how it was 18 years ago when I lived there. I recall something about them trying to change consumer's savings from the postal system into the banking system, but not sure what happened with that.
