The local yokels would no doubt have been tempting after a time and further offspring would be born. Say that was 60,000 years ago. Then, some other couple goes to Bora Bora for a holiday, 30,000 years ago. Maybe having a little boy born while they are there. The little boy is highly desirable to the women of Bora Bora and he is highly successful in defeating other males in competitions and he's generally quite lucky and smart. So more and more of his descendants come to predominate, in the end, no others being left. Another 30,000 years go by and genetic measurement is available. The geneticists find that your chromosome disappeared about 90,000 years ago, but Erita's and your wife's genes are prolific and so prolific in fact that all people at Bora Bora descended from them. The geneticists look at the Y chromosome and find that the only Y chromosome is from the bloke who arrived on holiday 30,000 years ago, with all others having fizzled out. So, as you can now see, everyone on Bora Bora would have descended from the woman who arrived 90,000 years ago and the bloke who arrived 30,000 years ago [or maybe it was 20,000 years ago]. It doesn't involve time travel, but it does say something about the relative risks of being a male or a female. Blokes are more prolifically reproductive than women if they get a chance, which they do if they are successful in genocidal war which usually involves blokes killing off competing males and taking over the women. Lions do that too [and kill the cubs]. It's important that you understand that TJ, so you can see who should go back where. Of course the whole return idea is daft. I was born here and have nowhere to go [as of right]. I don't plan to leave. If I went back to where my mother was born I'd be stuck in cold Dalian. No thanks.
