Voter ID cards are completely unnecessary. Our elections went fine until Rove entered the picture, only then was their widespread cheating and all of it is on the GOP side, all of it.

Voter ID cards aree an only segregationist trick, in order to scare blacks away from the polls. The GOP won in 2000 and 2004 because they disenfranchised over 250,000 black voters in key states. They were sued by ther NAACP and promised not to do it again in Florida, but they are ignoring the court orders. They just can't win any other way. By lying, cheating, smearing and stealing elections. They aer really evil people. Un-Americans. They stink.

Some info about a TX Democrat “risking his health” to fight a voter ID bill:

Cry Me a River of Booze
Chron: Lawmaker risks health to stop voter ID bill

After encouraging readers to decide if David Dewhurst is killing Mario Gallegos by pushing a Voter ID bill, the Chron is now in a full-fledged death watch. Today's front page featured a touching picture of dignified statesman John Whitmire consoling a despondent Gallegos in a Senate corridor. Unfortunately, the hookers and blow seem to be obscured by the bed sheets. Please, if you're looking for a heavenly martyr, how about someone who isn't a career alcoholic with a history of abusing sex partners while achieving nothing of significance in the Legislature?

And if the Chronicle really wants to stir indignation over the tragic suffering of the mortally ill, how about talking to the folks on the organ transplant list who got passed over for a semi-powerful self-serving abusive alcoholic politician? How long was Gallegos on the transplant wait list? Who got passed over? Ahhh, I'm sure the Chron will find out.

To be clear, the Madman has nothing against boozehounds. In fact, he often hounds booze with them. However, he has quite a bit against boozehounds who use perceived political power to cheat death. Moreso, he hates the tawdry little fishwraps that elevate such reprobates to premature canonization. We usually wait until deplorable politicians actually die before we assign them false esteem. If Gallegos wants to hasten the process instead of resigning to allow his district effective representation, that's his own choice.

Nobody can kill Mario but Mario, and even he seems to have done his damnedest. However, if Dewhurst really does want to try, hopefully he'll do it in a cooler way, like with a broadsword or something. That'd be cool.
