I think gold is a special thing, difficult to evaluate b/c at its heart it is a commodity.

There are no p/e ratios to look at, management to evaluate, financials to pick through, innovative products to assess, etc. Everything that I look at as a value investor is skewed. Instead, you have to put your finger on the pulse of factors which I find extremely difficult to evaluate.

So, I stay out of the POG prediction game, though it is fascinating to watch others do it particularly as there are some very extreme positions taken.

About the only 'wisdom' I have to offer is that if you think inflation will skyrocket, by all means load up.

A small stash for any investor is probably a good thing, but I certainly would not make it the focus of my portfolio.
